Okay, so today we're going to talk about how to sell digital products on Shopify. Yes. Yeah. So how to sell digital products on Shopify? Last week, I did it on WordPress. So today, we're going to do Shopify. Yes. So it's a little different on Shopify. I've mentioned this before, but Shopify really caters to drop shippers, and drop shippers don't have any inventory. But dropshippers are selling a physical product. So the first thing you need to do is you need to download the digital downloads app on Shopify.
How do you download a Shopify App? So you're at the homepage, click the Search bar, there's a product or now click Apps.
And then just type in digital downloads and the digital downloads app will pop up. And it is made by Shopify. Yes, so to download that, let it load. And let's see. We're at the dashboard. Now, you create a digital product. So products, add product. And this is where it gets really weird. Because there's no way it doesn't look like you can add a digital product. So you just put your title in. My title is going to be BAIB podcast trailer. I'm gonna make it a draft. And then I'm gonna save it and I only put the title.
Now, you have this little like corner menu option in the right. It says duplicate preview share more actions, you're going to want to go to more actions, and add digital file. Upload File, I am uploading an mp3 for a file. Okay, and then it's gonna give you a bunch of settings. Download settings, so auto fill variant, and then manually create fulfillment and the difference here is automatically create filament says fulfillment is only for mp3. And then manually create fulfillments is mixed goods. So like a CD and mp3. So since mine is just an audio file, I choose automatically create fulfillments and then manually generated URL you don't have any URLs generated. So I'm going to click Generate URL. And then now there's a download link. So if I click the URL, it's going to take me to a site where people can download the file. Okay. Um, yeah, so that's how you create the digital file.
Then you're going to want to go back to your product page. Fill out all the information BAIB podcast trailer can we also add the audio to the file? Let's check. Insert Image insert video Insert Table No, it does not seem like it. Okay, and then you add a file and this is like a preview. So I'm going To just do the podcast trailer or know the podcast thing, what's the word I'm looking for? I'm podcast cover. That's the word I'm looking for. Okay. Blue podcast cover. That's what it's called. There it is, price is $19.99. compared at price, I don't know what that is. So I'm going to click the question mark to show a reduced price, move the products original price and to show a reduced price, move the products original price and compare that to enter a lower value into price. Charge tax on this product? Nah, cost per item customer won't see this. It's digital product. So I'm gonna put $9.99. And it shows me the numbers. I'm going to put $1.99. And now my margin is 66.8% My profit is $4. And that's because my I have a discount price. Right? Now there's inventory, you don't need that it says track quantity, you unclick that. You might have an SKU. You might have a barcode, put those in. I don't have that. And then shipping. It says this is a physical product, you're going to unclick that. Then this product has options like color or size. No, it doesn't. Right, so I'm still keeping into draft product.
What's the product category for this one? It's probably let's just do media. product type audio collection. Let's do podcast episodes. Okay, tag audio same Online Store Theme template default. Okay, so now we save. And then we preview. And so what does that look like?
You see the audio category, the title and BAIB podcast with two s's because I spelled it wrong. You see the $5.99? Because that's what you sell tapes for. With the $19.99 crossed out quantity. Then the tag is audio. And then you can share this. So if I click the Twitter button, what does it look like? Oh, I have to log into Twitter first. Okay, so let me log into Twitter. Okay, so it's just a link to the preview, not even the product. And then it says the title. And that's it says the title twice. I don't know why. Oh, no. It's the title and then the title or the product description. Okay. And then this section currently doesn't include any content add content to this section using the sidebar. Weird. Sidebar, hide bar. Okay, yeah, I don't I don't know what that means.
